Royal Rumble (2014) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE and presented by Jackson Hewitt which took place on January 26, 2014 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the twenty-seventh annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view and the first WWE pay-per-view in 2014.

It was the first WWE pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh since the 2009 Bragging Rights, and the first pay-per-view event at Consol Energy Center since it opened in 2010.

The event is notable for the overwhelmingly negative crowd response during the Orton-Cena title match, as well as towards the end of—and after—the Royal Rumble match, when the fans booed Rumble winner Batista and repeatedly chanted for Daniel Bryan (who competed earlier in the night and was not involved in the match). Fans voiced their displeasure over social media, as did news outlets such as Herald & Review. Retired wrestler Mick Foley also displayed disgust over the event on his Twitter account. The event marked the final wrestling appearance of CM Punk, who walked out on WWE prior to Raw the next night despite still being under contract. Punk was subsequently removed from advertising for future events and retired from professional wrestling.
